Description

The Employee Retention Credit (“ERC”) started out as a lesser-known relief provision contained in the CARES Act passed into law at the beginning of the pandemic in March of 2020.   Over the last three years, the ERC has increasingly grown in popularity and is now the topic of constant television ads, radio ads, social media ads, and marking emails and calls.  As the ERC’s popularity has grown, so has fraud and abuse.  The IRS has issued numerous warnings to employers about the importance of obtaining quality counsel in evaluating ERC eligibility.  Whether you have already received your ERC refunds or have yet to evaluate whether your organization is eligible for the ERC, the importance of ensuring your organization has received quality guidance in this area has never been greater.  Join Mike Batts and Kaylyn Varnum as they provide an update on the ERC environment, including key considerations and observations for your organization’s decision-makers.
