Ben Lippen School (BLS) is an evangelical, Christian school for grades K4-12. Founded in 1940 by Robert C. McQuilkin, first president of Columbia International University, BLS began as a boarding high school in Asheville, North Carolina. In 1988, BLS moved from Asheville to new facilities on the CIU campus, offering a program for middle and high school students. In 1989, the elementary school program was begun. The schools are college preparatory and coeducational. The high school has both boarding and day students. BLS is accredited by the Southern Associationof Colleges and Schools and the Association of Christian Schools International
