Carriage Town Ministries

Ministry Description
Carriage Town Ministries (CTM) is a safe haven for those who are homeless. It is also a catalyst for individuals and families in Genesee County who want to navigate the pathway out of poverty. We provide basic needs – food, clothing, and shelter – along with a comprehensive Personal Success Program of mentoring and job readiness services for income stability and independent living. Our research indicates that men, women, and children who are homeless need a safe, secure, encouraging place to land when they are desperate. They need assistance in reconstructing a social support structure (family, church, friends). They need mentored programs that help them achieve a sustainable, dependable income stream through employment, assistance or a combination of both. CTM provides managed care and mentoring designed to help achieve these objectives.

We began in 1950 as the Flint Rescue Mission on the banks of the Flint River at Grand Traverse Street. In response to the calling of Matthew 25:3
