Ministry Description
Haven of Rest Ministries exists to see those bound by life-dominating problems rescued, restored, and released while experiencing the love of Jesus Christ. They were founded in 1960 to provide shelter, food, and clothing to homeless men in the Anderson, SC area. That ministry has grown to include several ministry areas: the Rescue Mission, the Women's Ministry, the Men's Training Center, 8 Thrift Stores, and the Appliance Repair Center. They provide a long-term, residential, Christian discipleship program for men and women with life dominating issues. As well as having their physical needs met, clients also receive spiritual counseling while they are here. Haven of Rest's program includes classroom instruction, work within the ministry, community service, church involvement, and interaction with pastors and laymen in their community. Their thrift stores and appliance repair center provide the public with needed items at affordable prices, and all money received is used to fund their
