Wears Valley Ranch

Ministry Description
Wears Valley Ranch's mission is to promote the spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social, and physical well-being of children, in need of a stronger family support system, through Christ-centered home settings.

The Residential Program provides beautiful homes staffed with a happily married Christian couple who serve as houseparents and two college aged Mentors. Together, these staff provide a family-like setting for children from difficult situations.

Saint Andrew's School provides K-12 tutorial education to children. Grade 9-12 are fully accredited by ACSI. Our tutorial approach starts with testing to determine each incoming student's ability and current achievement. Based on these test results, our staff create a curriculum plan for each child, tailored to his or her needs. Students are tutored in small groups (typically no more than 4 students to one instructor) and encouraged to move at their own pace. Many have advanced multiple grade levels in given year when given this kind of opportunity!

Master's level counselors provide Biblical Counseling to staff, students, and student families when possible. Our vision is to see everyone inspired to follow Christ, healed from the past, and equipped to reach his or her potential.

Our Recreation and Equestrian staff provide a wide array of activies including horseback riding, high and low ropes, hiking, basketball, soccer, pickleball, ultimate frisbee, volleyball, swimming, and adventure recreation. With a campus adjoining the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the recreation options right next door are amazing!

Abiding in Christ Radio airs Jim Wood's Bible teaching and interviews daily on XM/Sirius satellite radio and podcast. Chapel services stream Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 11 AM at wvr.org/live.

Camp Arrowwood offers a Christ-centered, residential sports camp to kids from all walks of life. Since 2023, camp has expanded to provide homeschool enrichment days, shorter seasonal camps, retreats, and hospitality.
